About the Project
Wakefield, MA
At the heart of a large-scale energy storage system, is a prefab modular electrical control building provided by SafeSpace Buildings. This enclosure was designed to be well insulated, meeting the strict energy code requirements for continuous insulation and high R values to create an energy efficient enclosure.
The electrical controls in this structure monitor and regulate the power stored in this campus of utility scale power conversion inverters and LFP battery storage units. This system provides reliable stand by uninterruptable power for the new school buildings.
The height of this structure required it to be shipped in panelized sections, assembled of site to make a fully functional enclosure. An oversized air conditioning system provides cooling for the heat generating equipment inside to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
The building was designed, engineered and installed in less than three months, meeting the aggressive timeline for project completion. SafeSpace is proud be an integral part of a project that keeps the lights and other life safety equipment running during power outages.
