Fire Rated Buildings

UL Classified and FM approved fire rated enclosures and buildings are used for electrical enclosures, hazmat storage buildings, generator fuel storage buildings and other applications where code requires fire protection of equipment and the surrounding area.

SafeSpace Buildings provides Fire Rated Enclosures Designed to Provide the Extra Level of Protection Required for Hazardous Locations

Building codes often require 1 hour or two-hour (2hr.) fire rated design to keep sensitive equipment safe. Four-hour (4-hr.) fire rated designs may be necessary when hazardous chemicals are involved.

Our fired rated buildings comply with UL: ANSI UL 263 for 2-hr and U491 4-hr fire rated assemblies. Structural members are protected by fire rated gypsum overlaid with non-combustible steel interior and exterior skin to provide the appropriate fire rating. They also comply with OSHA 29 CFR1910 and EPA 40 CFR

These fire rated buildings are pre-engineered so the design is already approved, saving time and money. These enclosures have stamped and approved plans, are physically inspected in the factory by a 3rd party engineer and arrive at your site with engineer signed seals on the unit. Local authorities have the assurance that these buildings are compliant with the required fire rating, making them fit for their intended use.

The entire process of design, installation and certification takes place in a fraction of the time required to design and build one on site.

Save time and money by buying your fire rated building instead of building it!
