About the Project

Dallas, TX

Extensive upgrades to this hospital in Dallas Texas include a new rooftop mounted HVAC system. However, working on the roof of a building in the middle of the summer in Texas, is not a comfortable work environment. The solution was to build and fit out a prefab modular mechanical penthouse in a factory, then lift it onto the roof. This strategy saved time, cost and contributed to the safety and comfort of the tradespeople.

SafeSpace worked closely with the Hospitals mechanical engineering team to coordinate structural supports, penetrations, and additional anchoring points to withstand the high winds experienced on this rooftop.

The result was a state-of-the-art HVAC system, enclosure in a prefabricated mechanical doghouse that enhances the comfort of hospital patients and staff, delivered on time and on budget.
