About the Project

Michigan
GM needed an electrical equipment control building that was durable and well insulated to protect sensitive equipment from Michigan’s harsh weather.

SafeSpace Buildings was proud to provide the prefabricated modular enclosure. Built with heavy-gauge sheet steel and a welded steel frame, it included heaters, lighting, and ventilation to create an ideal environment for electrical load centers, transformers, and control panels.

This fast-track project was designed, fabricated, and delivered within three months. The enclosure was installed quickly on site, allowing GM’s team to complete the electrical control system and begin operations without delay.

GM appreciated that this approach avoided the usual time and disruption of constructing the building on site. We look forward to helping General Motors continue to benefit from the speed, cost savings, and logistical advantages of modular prefabricated construction on future projects.
