About the Project
Englewood, CO
The rapidly growing community of Englewood required a significant upgrade to its municipal water system to keep pace with increasing demand. To meet this need, the city initiated a fast‑track improvement project that included a prefabricated pump station designed to control and monitor water flow.
SafeSpace Buildings was selected to provide the modular enclosure due to our extensive experience with specialized utility structures. We adapted one of our standard pre‑engineered designs to meet the project’s specific equipment requirements and the unique conditions of the region. Colorado’s rigorous design review process—including in‑factory inspections—ensures compliance with state energy codes as well as stringent wind, snow, and seismic load criteria. Our combination of in‑house engineering expertise and a trusted third‑party engineering network allowed us to meet all required standards.
Key features of this building include an aggregate stone exterior finish that blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment. The design also incorporated solar‑power preparation and accommodations for future EV‑charging infrastructure, addressing the utility’s long‑term operational goals.
The result is a fully functional, energy‑efficient enclosure with robust construction and an attractive architectural presence. Delivered on schedule, the structure was installed in time to support the demanding timeline of this critical municipal project.
